Current Fire Information

Following is an up-to-the-minute list of current minor and major CAL FIRE wildfire incidents in Calfifornia.
Soberanes Fire (Monterey County) Started 7/22/2016, updated 7/29/2016
CAL FIRE and the United States Forest Service, Los Padres National Forest remains in unified command. The fire burned actively overnight. Pre-planning continues to mitigate potential future threat. Warm and dry conditions on the fireline are forecast for today with high temperatures in the 90รข€™s and low humidity values. Fire continues to burn in steep, rugged and inaccessible terrain. A State of Emergency has been declared by the Governor. The Damage Inspection Team continues working in collaboration with Monterey County Office of Emergency Services on assessment of damaged structures and infrastructure. A total of 41 residences and 10 outbuildings have been destroyed. Two residences and two outbuildings have been damaged. US FOREST SERVICE TRAIL AND ROAD CLOSURES: A forest closure order has been implemented to close the trails and roads within the Los Padres National Forest, Monterey Ranger District pursuant to USC 551 and 36 CFR 261.50(a). The order prohibits going into or being upon National Forest System lands within the Soberanes Fire area. CALIFORNIA STATE PARK CLOSURES: All California State Parks from Point Lobos State Natural Reserve through Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park are closed until further notice; which includes Andrew Molera State Park, Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park Campground and Day Use and Point Sur Historic Lighthouse. 350 residents have been evacuated along with several road closures listed in the Evacuations section. Rock Fire (San Diego County) Started 7/22/2016, updated 7/24/2016
Firefighters are making great progress on the Rock Fire in Ramona near Highway 67 and Rockhouse Road. Please slow down for firefighters still working in the area.
Foothill Fire (Lake County) Started 7/19/2016, updated 7/22/2016
CAL FIRE and Lake County firefighters are on scene of a vegetation fire in the area of Foothill Drive at Country Club Drive in the community of Lucerne. The fire is burning in grass and brush.
